Abstract
Placenta percreta is a rare condition. Implantation of a pregnancy in a previous caesarean section scar is even more rare. Serious complications can occur in these cases. We describe two patients with a previous cesarean section and placenta previa with growth into the caesarean scar. Based on our experience and description in literature we advise that a cesarean scar pregnancy be considered, and ruled out using ultrasonoghraphy, in patients who show complications early in pregnancy and have a history of cesarean section. Termination of the pregnancy must be considered in case-of a caesarean scar pregnancy, using methotrexate. After a previous cesarean section determining the localisation of the placenta using ultrasonography is useful. When a placenta previa is found, a placenta accreta or percreta should always be considered, including its complications.
