Abstract

Anterior chamber (AC) fluid analysis represents a valuable diagnostic tool, used predominantly to identify the infectious agents causing uveitis and for the diagnosis of masquerade syndromes, especially malignancies. In addition, aqueous samples are commonly used for research purposes. AC fluid analysis is recently gaining popularity, since the procedure does not require an elaborate approach, has a low prevalence of complications and last, but certainly not least, has a high diagnostic yield with the simultaneous applications of PCR and the use of the Goldmann-Witmer coefficient (GWC) for multiple pathogens.
