Revisie van de richtlijnen Ascites, Koorts en Hypercalciëmie bij patiënten in de palliatieve fase

The multidisciplinary guidelines ‘Ascites’, ‘Fever’ and ‘Hypercalcemia’ in patients in the palliative phase were revised in 2024. The members of the working group were mandated by several scientific, professional and patient organizations. On the basis of a bottleneck analysis several scientific questions were formulated with regard to non-pharmacological treatment of ascites, differentiation between paraneoplastic and infectious fever, pharmacological treatment of fever and hyperhydration and pharma cological treatment of hypercalcemia. Other parts of the guidelines were revised consensus- based. In this paper a short summary is given of the most important recommendations of the guidelines.
