    Abstract

We report what is, to our best knowledge, the first case of pyogenic spondylitis following ear piercing, a common and popular cosmetic procedure. The spondylitis was adequately treated with antibiotics and brace. The value of additional diagnostic measures in differentiating between spondylitis and discitis is discussed. © 2007, Acta Orthopædica Belgica.
