Abstract

We present our treatment plan for patients suffering from Anorexia nervosa. The treatment plan uses an integration of paediatric and psychotherapeutical therapy as a psychosomatic approach. In defining the eating problem as a disorder of weight gain we administer a behavioral therapy which demands a weight gain of 100 grams per day. If the patient fails to gain weight sufficiently she stays in bed; if she is not able to gain weight with this restriction a nasogastral tube is administered. Individual psychotherapy is offered and systemic family therapy is recommended. Out-patient follow up therapy is lead by a strict weight control in our department and focuses on family and individual psychotherapy.
