Abstract

Neuroendocrine and small cell carcinomas of the urinary tract are rare diseases which result in early metastasis with a poor outcome. The most frequent presentation in the urinary tract is small cell bladder cancer which is best treated by neoadjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy or cystectomy if the disease is limited to the pelvic area. In patients with distant metastasis, the prognosis is dismal despite palliative chemotherapy.
