Abstract
The various approaches used to monitor the central nervous system vary in terms of information content, spatial resolution, complexity, and cost. Methods of monitoring discussed in this article include electroencephalography, evoked potentials, transcranial Doppler monitoring, and near-infrared transcranial spectroscopy.
