Abstract

This thesis, “Modifiable Risk Factors for Age-Related Brain Disease,” explores various aspects of preventive strategies against age-related brain diseases. We identify modifiable risk factors for stroke, dementia and late-life depression, examine public perceptions of the preventability of stroke and dementia, validate tools to help individuals care for their brain, and investigate solutions to enhance the accessibility of prevention.
