Abstract

Renal transplantation is the preferred therapy for children with end-stage renal disease (ESRD). An improved patient and graft survival after transplantation has been observed by the Registry of the European Dialysis and Transplant Association (EDTA), and an increasing number of children with ESRD have functioning allografts (1980 42% v 1972 28%). To evaluate our results obtained with renal transplantation in children, a retrospective analysis over a period of 10 years was initiated. The preliminary results of this study are presented below.
