Abstract

Food allergy is the leading cause of anaphylaxis in Europe. We describe some of the most important allergens which can cause life-threatening symptoms. In recent years new insights and new possibilities for testing have been developed in the field of severe food allergies, which may facilitate diagnosis of clinically relevant allergies in the future.
