Abstract
In a series of 140 hysteroscopic transcervical endoresections of presumed leiomyoma a case of a leiomyosarcoma diagnosed after complete hysteroscopical resection is presented. A second case of a spontaneous expelled cellular leiomyoma with hysteroscopic resection of the stalk is also described. As the diagnosis of sarcomatous change in uterine myomas is difficult to establish preoperatively, this diagnosis was not expected in either case. Pathological examination of the resected tissue-chips is a prerequisite. Consequences concerning subsequent treatment related to prognostic factors are discussed.
