Abstract

Interstitial pregnancy is a rare but complex form of ectopic pregnancy. It accounts for approximately 2-3% of the ectopic pregnancies and has a seven-fold higher morbidity and mortality rate compared to tubal ectopic pregnancies. Diagnosis prior to uterine rupture and massive hemorrhage is difficult but has become more frequent due to early pregnancy ultrasounds. This has enabled a more conservative approach to management and treatment methods. Here, we report two cases of interstitial pregnancies and give an overview on current knowledge of diagnosis and treatment.
