Abstract

Many intracavitary abnormalities can be excluded or detected by transvaginal ultrasonography, with or without intracavitary fluid as contrast. Diagnostic hysteroscopy is still mandatory for the detection and classification of intrauterine adhesions. Therapeutic hysteroscopy is the treatment of choice for intracavitary abnormalities. It has been proven that the treatment of these abnormalities is effective in the event of subfertility. The position of hysteroscopy in diagnostics and treatment of patients with fertility disorders is not always obvious. This article attempts to provide some clarity.
