Abstract
Functional Imaging of the brain is one of the most exciting recent developments in Magnetic Resonance imaging (MRI). It refers to techniques which provide functional information about the human brain which goes beyond morphology. Examples are brain activation studies, perfusion and diffusion imaging. For example, the visualization of activated cortical brain regions during external stimulations or while performing specific tasks opens a completely new perspective for the use of MRI.
