Abstract

Erythroderma is characterised by generalized erythema and infiltration of the skin most often with exfoliation. It is a rare disease with many different causes. The treatment in the early stages is symptomatic but later on, when the cause is determined, more disease specific. Paraneoplastic dermatoses are a group of skin disorders that have a strong association with internal malignancies. In patients with paraneoplastic dermatoses with a very strong association with an internal malignancy and in patients with dermatomyositis an extensive screening for malignancy is recommended. For other paraneoplastic dermatoses a less extensive screening, is in most cases, sufficient.
