Abstract

Due to its inherent complications, the subcutaneous injection of liquid paraffin and silicone to improve body contour has been regarded an obsolete technique since the 1960s. Nevertheless such injections are still being offered to male-to-female transsexuals in the Netherlands and elsewhere as a simple means of feminising body contour.
