Abstract
Of all trauma treatments, EMDR has been extensively studied, whilst not all treatment modalities need to be evidence-based in order to be useful. The search for evidence as suggested is not always realistic, let alone cost-efficient. Furthermore, it impairs the space for the creativity of both professionals and clients. Especially in case of attachment disorders, dissociation and adverse childhood experiences, an adjusted (alternative) treatment may be worth exploring and will require a personalized approach.
