Abstract
Infantile hemangioma’s (IH) have a characteristic growth pattern and in most cases the diagnosis of IH can be made by the clinical picture. Nevertheless, making an accurate first diagnosis can be challenging. A careful history and physical examination can help to differentiate infantile hemangioma from other vascular anomalies in infants. In some cases referral to an expertise center is necessary. Four cases, initially diagnosed as infantile hemangioma, will illustrate how to differentiate vascular anomalies in infants.
