Abstract

This report describes a 55-yr-old man who developed a pulmonary infiltrate, pleural fluid and cutaneous lesions, 3 months after renal transplantation, due to Nocardia asteroides. He was treated with sulphadiazine and is now completely well. Ten months after the diagnosis was made, treatment with sulphadiazine continues. The clinical picture, diagnosis and treatment of infections with Nocardia spp. will be discussed.
