Abstract

In this chapter, we give an overview of the most common data artifacts in diffusion magnetic resonance imaging and present the typical strategies to correct for them. The main topics that are covered here include data quality assessment, signal drift, Gibbs ringing, subject motion, eddy-current distortions, echo-planar imaging deformations, noise distributions, and model estimation approaches.
