Abstract

Since the late 1990s, many fiber tractography (FT) approaches with varying levels of complexity have been developed to reconstruct estimates of fiber pathways. While there are numerous ways to classify FT methods, most commonly they are split into two groups by their ability to deal with the uncertainty associated with pathway propagation: deterministic and probabilistic FT methods. This chapter focuses on the former category and provides an overview of the key ingredients that make up deterministic FT algorithms.
