Abstract

The 2023 update of the European guideline on imaging in large vessel vasculitis provides guidance on the use of ultrasound, FDG-PET, MRI, CT, and angiography for diagnosis and disease monitoring. Compared to the 2018 guideline, significant changes have been made regarding the role of ultrasound, the use of FDG-PET, and the application of imaging modalities in follow-up. This article discusses the key changes in the guideline, compares it with the Dutch guideline and highlights considerations.
