Abstract

The authors present data of lysis of endothelial cells in vitro by CTL generated in MLC measured with a 51Cr-release assay. To compare determinants recognized by CTL on endothelial cells and PHA blasts, cold target inhibition experiments have been performed. It appeared that arterial endothelial cells (AEC) are recognized by CTL through class I antigens, as are PHA blasts; however, venous endothelial cells (VEC) appeared to be recognized through determinants not recognized on PHA blasts.
