Abstract

Birth-related mechanical head injuries (commonly called Traumatic Brain Injury) in neonates can occur spontaneously or due to various birth-related factors such as instrumental assisted delivery. The delicate nature of a newborn’s developing brain makes it particularly vulnerable to injury. Careful clinical examination soon after birth is a key as timely identification and treatment can be lifesaving and decrease the risk of long-term implications.
