Abstract

Beyond the special brachytherapy modalities mentioned in the previous chapter are cutting-edge advances in the field of brachytherapy. These may be categorized into three types: new capsule designs for brachytherapy sources, developments in ultrasound (US) imaging for brachytherapy planning and treatment delivery, and robotic brachytherapy for implantation with US or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) guidance.
