Abstract
In this thesis, we developed new methodologies which aim to tackle two issues
that are likely to occur during MR-guided HDR prostate brachytherapy: needle
positioning errors and changes of anatomy. We also developed a MR compatible
needle tracking system based on FBG sensors which can measure the position of
a needle with performance comparable or superior to current MR-based methods.
