Dr. Marion Sommers-Spijkerman and Dr. Anita Beelen received the Klokhuis Science Award 2021 (in Dutch: Klokhuis Wetenschapsprijs 2021) for their work on improving communication about ALS among families in which a parent is diagnosed with ALS (project ALS Parents & Kids Support). The Klokhuis Science Award is an initiative of InScience and the popular Dutch children’s television programme “Het Klokhuis”. It is awarded to scientific research that is both interesting and relevant for children aged between 9 and 12 years old.
