    Biography

    Prof. Chamuleau (1969) studied medicine at University of Amsterdam and graduated in 1997. In 2001 he received his PhD degree cum laude on intracoronary derived physiological parameters for clinical decision making at the Academic Medical Center (AMC). After his PhD he started his residency Cardiology at the AMC, where he also did his fellowship training in cardiac imaging. After a year postdoc in at the Institute of Molecular Cardiology in Louisville, KY, USA (head: prof. Bolli) focusing on cardiac stem cell treatment, he started at the UMC Utrecht as staff Cardiologist (2008). He has over 120 publications (H-index 25).

    Since 2015 he is Deputy Head of the Cardiology department and deputy member for the training of specialization Cardiology. In February 2016 he is appointed as Professor of (general)Cardiology. He is active as PI in the UMCU focus areas Circulatory Health and Regenerative Medicine.

    At the moment he is a (co-)PI in several large international research consortia and clinical trials, primarily focused on cardiac regeneration, imaging and valvular disease.
