Biography
Nicolette Notermans obtained her PhD degree on the clinical features and pathogenesis of Chronic Idiopathic Axonal Polyneuropathy (CIAP) and Polyneuropathy associated with Monoclonal Gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) in Utrecht (1994). After her PhD she obtained several grants (NWO, Prinses Beatrix foundation) to study the etiology of CIAP, polyneuropathy associated with MGUS and other immune-mediated neuropathies. She has initiated several studies of large, national cohorts of patients with CIAP and MGUS, in close collaboration with haematologists throughout the country.
She is a member of the word-wide task force of vasculitic neuropathy and MGUS neuropathy. As president of the Dutch neuromuscular research organization (ISNO), she organized the 7th annual conference of the World Muscle Society in 2002, in Rotterdam. Since 2010, she is the director of the successful neuromuscular diseases residency program which attracts many residents from other teaching hospitals.

Education
Basic Teaching Qualification (2016)
2016-2020 chair, Reeders Stichting (unsalaried)
The Reeders Foundation was established in 1984 for the purpose of granting financial support to institutions for public benefit. At first the focus was on financial support for research into Multiple Sclerosis. Over the years, as the funds of the foundation increased, others areas of interest were added. The Reeders Foundation has contributed to many organisations active at home and abroad.
