Her research focuses on understanding the origin of chromosome segregation errors in mammalian oocytes and embryos. These errors are extremely common in human oocytes and embryos and are the primary cause of infertility and miscarriages in women. The main aims of her research are (1) to understand how, defects at the interface between chromosomes and the cytoskeletal machinery, lead to these errors and (2) to study the consequences of chromosome segregation errors during early development.
