Biography

Marije Hennus MD, PhD, MClinEd, is a pediatric intensivist and Associate Professor Teaching. She trained at the Willhelmina Children’s Hospital, University Medical Center Utrecht, the Netherlands and after completing her PICU-fellowship in 2006 stayed on as a member of staff. In 2013 she obtained her PhD in translational research (University Utrecht, the Netherlands). In 2017 she was appointed PICU program director and given her keen interest in medical education she decided to obtain a Master of Clinical Education (University of Edinburgh, Scotland, graduated with distinction in 2019). She was the national lead in developing and implementing EPAs for Dutch PICU fellows in 2020. Her current research focus is on workplace-based teaching and learning with a particular interest in EPAs.
