Biography

Jojanneke Drogt is a PhD candidate at the University Medical Center Utrecht's Julius Center for Health Sciences and Primary Care's subdepartment of Medical Humanities. She has a background in anthropology, biomedical science and philosophy.

Her doctoral research is part of the RAIDIO-project (NWO | RAIDIO - Responsible Artificial Intelligence in clinical DecisIOn-making) in which responsible use of AI in image-based medicine is investigated. Within the project, interdisciplinary perspectives and methods are used to analyse ethical integration of AI in the work of medical professionals. Topics included in the project are:

  • Experiences and expectations of AI;
  • Changing professional roles;
  • Medical expertise in the context of AI;
  • Responsibility for AI-generated outcomes;
  • Interdisciplinary methodology.

Next to her research project, Jojanneke teaches in several courses in health humanities and has been part of a policy task force of the Ministry of Health targeting Valuable AI in Healthcare
