Denise van Hout is a medical doctor and epidemiologist working as a post-doctoral researcher at the Julius Center for Health Sciences, UMC Utrecht. She wrote a PhD thesis on infectious diseases epidemiology and is experienced in collaborating with international researchers in large consortia. In her post-doctoral research she uses data-driven methods to identify and quantify bottlenecks in the initiation and delivery of randomized clinical trials (RCTs), including adaptive platform trials (APTs), both in the Netherlands and in multinational settings. She is passionate about creating a more efficient and harmonized research landscape for the future and during health emergencies, such as pandemics. With her work she aims to improve the speed with which patients get access to innovative treatments.
