Biography
David C. van der Zee is pediatric surgeon and one of the founders of minimal invasive surgery in children and neonates. He made the department of pediatric surgery in Utrecht into a Center of Excellence for esophageal atresia with patients being referred form the whole country and throughout Europe. The Department is a training center for pediatric minimal invasive surgery. He is invited lecturer on several occasions, recently invited lecture: Training in pediatric laparoscopy, Academie Francaise Chirurgien, Paris, May 4, 2016. He was awarded Honorary Member of the Academie Francaise Chirurgien; invited lecture: Long gap esophageal atresia, 10 years Center of Excellence, Lille, May 9, 2016; Storz lecture BAPS congress Amsterdam, July 20-22 2016; invited lecture: Long gap esophageal atresia, INoEA, Sydney, September 16, 2016; invited lecture: Long term follow-up antireflux surgery in children. ISDE, Singapore September 19, 2016.
