Biography
I bring over 20 years of clinical and research experience in audiology, with a keen focus on tinnitus.
As Head of Audiology at UMC Utrecht, I have pioneered approaches to tinnitus care, including an innovative project to develop an eHealth app for tinnitus psychoeducation. My work also includes developing a model to measure the quality of shared decision-making in tinnitus care, mapping patient profiles to tailor interventions effectively. This reflects my commitment to leveraging technology to enhance patient outcomes and accessibility to care.
As an affiliated researcher in Pediatric Oncology in Utrecht, I focus on ototoxicity, including tinnitus in survivors of childhood cancer. Our team is currently isolating risk factors to mitigate tinnitus in this vulnerable population.
My multidiciplinary background and leadership in both clinical and research settings underscore my passion for advancing audiological and tinnitus care through innovation, collaboration, and evidence-based practice.
