Description
Clinical trials with novel (immune) therapies in children with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis (JIA) and other rare diseases are limited by the relatively small numbers of patients and the lack of pediatric-specific read-outs. Harmonizing immune-monitoring for novel therapies in these diseases, will enable better comparisons between early phase trials and facilitate optimized dosing regimens and immune monitoring tools in phase III trials. In addition, using these protocols in well-defined international inception cohorts will be pivotal for a better understanding of the immune pathogenesis of these rare diseases. The goal of this invitational UCAN-U meeting will be to define an agenda for immune monitoring in Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis. It is our intention to reach a first consensus on the principle and practicalities of immune monitoring, and use as a stepping stone towards an international research protocol on precision rheumatology that will be part of the UCAN-Asia agenda
